Massage and Aromatherapy

For thousands of years massage has been used by cultures around the world. Today it is considered an integral part of many healthcare and well-being plans.
Our hectic and often stressful lifestyles leave many people burned-out, unmotivated and very often on the road to greater health risks. Medical research has proven that stress is a leading cause of more than 80% of our common health problems. Massage will help alleviate mental stress and the accompanying physical problems.

Massage is particularly beneficial for use on stress related conditions as it encourages deep relaxation. It is de-toxifying and improves circulation. It is exfoliating, so aids the skin’s general condition. It can help break down cellulite deposits.

Don’t be surprised when you feel refreshed, revitalised and more alert as massage brings the body back into balance and generates a feeling of well-being.

Aromatherapy has been around for 6000 years or more. The Greeks, Romans, Chinese, Indians and ancient Egyptians all used aromatherapy oils. The Egyptian physician Imhotep recommended fragrant oils for bathing, massage, and for embalming their dead nearly 6000 years ago. Imhotep is the Egyptian god of medicine and healing. Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine, used aromatherapy baths and scented massage. He used aromatic fumigations to rid Athens of the plague.

He was famous for saying, "The physician must be experienced in many things, but assuredly also in rubbing."
